ABSTRACT

In general, undergraduate university students at Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi, Nonthaburi Campus, Thailand have a low level of physical activity. This descriptive research aimed to examine exercise behaviors and factors influencing physical activity among students. A total of 388 students were selected using systematic random sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis. The findings showed that students demonstrated positive exercise behaviors, including planning or allocating time for exercise each time (mean = 4.74, SD = 0.47), exercising in parks or community areas (mean = 4.71, SD = 0.45), and beginning with low-intensity exercise before increasing intensity (mean = 4.62, SD = 0.70). Predictive factors influencing physical activity include age (19-22 years old; β = 0.210), peer support (β = 0.168), management and administrative factors (β = 0.160), attitude toward physical activity (β = 0.148), gender (β = 0.138), budgetary support (β = 0.119), and educational level (β = 0.114). These factors significantly explained 37.5% of the variance in physical activity behaviors (p < 0.05). The findings highlight the importance of promoting sustainable physical activity through consideration of personal factors, supportive environments, positive attitudes, adequate facilities, and support from universities, peers, and families.
