ABSTRACT
The present research focuses on investigating the behavior of cold-formed steel canal sections with back-to-back built-up members subjected to flexure, including the capacity, maximum load, load-deflection curve, and buckling failure. In accordance with analytical studies outlined in SNI 7971:2013, which is referenced in AS/NZS 4600:2005, the final result will be evaluated compared to a single canal section through numerical analysis with ABAQUS. This member made from double canal type C80x30x0,75 was tested in strong axes. The analysis stated that the flexural capacity from both numerical and analytical studies had similar results. In addition, the maximum stress is located at the lip section for all models. Applied double canal back-to-back built-up section members increased the maximum load capacity by decreasing the number of deflection, with the local buckling occurring at the middle span of the beam.
