ABSTRACT
Asphalt Concrete–Wearing Course (AC-WC) is a pavement layer located at the top. Asphalt has characteristics that affect the performance of asphalt mixtures. Therefore, it is necessary to have the best quality asphalt so that later it can produce asphalt mixtures with good performance and be able to provide a strong enough bonding power. This study aimed to see the effect of variations in the added ingredients of Kudo gum on the Asphalt Concrete Wearing Course mixture. This research was conducted in 3 (three) stages. The first stage was testing the properties of the material in the aggregate and asphalt. The second stage of the Marshall Test was to determine the optimum asphalt content at variations of 0%, 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.3%, 0.4% and 0.5%. The third stage was analyzing the discussion and conclusions from the results of the tests carried out. The results show the value of variation with the addition of Kudo gum with Marshall testing obtained the optimum value of kudo 0.3% with a stability value of 1093.055 kg, Flow 2.67 mm, Marshall Quotient 410.522 %, VMA 15.442 %, VIM 3.708%, VFA 76.185% and Density 2.282 kg/mm3.
